Like you we at Four Paws Bakery love our pets and want only the best for them. Our dog Whiskey had heart problems, so needless to say we had to be careful about his diet. Now we didn’t want to deny him the pleasure of having a treat now and then, but finding a suitable biscuit became quit a daunting exercise.

The treats that were commercially available were completely inadequate. I’m someone who reads the ingredient information on all products and I was shocked by what was allowed to be sold as pet food. What to do? I had three options:

1. Buy the unhealthy biscuits, absolutely not.
2. No treats, couldn’t do that, God knows I couldn’t imagine life without chocolate.
3. Make my own, and that is exactly what I did.

I spent months researching ingredients, phone call after phone call to the vet and honourable mention to Google. Now to achieve the best possible biscuit a few boxes definitely had to be checked. They had to be healthy, great tasting, crisp and crunchy. This equals a nutritious and delicious biscuit treat. Pawsatively the best!

Thunder & Zack

Whiskey and I shared many evenings crunching our way through countless biscuits. Yes, I ate the biscuits too. Why not? They contain the same ingredients I use in my everyday cooking and baking. Over time friends began to request my biscuits more and more for their own pets, so I knew I was on to something good. From there one thing lead to another and in April 2005 Four Paws Bakery was founded.

Whiskey is the face of Four Paws Bakery and was our official taste tester. He gave us his paw of approval on all of our biscuit flavours and a few still to be released. His favourites were Peanut Butter Oatmeal and Taste of Italy. Whiskey was in his 16th year when he passed away. Not bad for a little dog with heart problems. My commitment to providing Whiskey with a healthy treat is the same commitment we at Four Paws Bakery have for providing the Aussie canine community with nutritious and delicious treats.
